Female Hormone Balance and Restoration
Hormones play a vital role in the metabolic functions of both men and women. Hormone imbalance begins when a woman's ovaries or adrenal glands start making less estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone. During the reproductive years, estrogen and progesterone regulate the monthly cycles of ovulation and menstruation. In the late 30's, the amount of progesterone a woman’s body produces decreases, and the remaining eggs in the ovaries are less likely to be fertilized. Eventually the menstrual periods stop, and pregnancy is no longer possible.
Bioidentical hormones including estrogen, progesterone and testosterone are used to correct your hormone imbalance.
Bioidentical hormones are precisely the same hormones your body produces. They work in your body the same way as your own hormones do. With bioidentical hormone restoration therapy (BHRT), you are given the hormones that your body has stopped producing in sufficient amounts. BHRT can also be given to deal with levels of hormones that you may be producing in excessive amounts. The principle of BHRT is to bring your hormone levels back into natural balance.
